Ease of Application
The RFTQ allows easy and rapid application under stress. Even one hand application is
easily accomplished. The operation of the RFTQ requires no fine motor skills.

Rugged and Reliable
The simple design and rugged components allow the RFTQ to survive the rigors of field
use. With an extended aluminum alloy ratchet lever, mil-spec nylon webbing, steel
screw and post attachment, and a high strength polymer buckle the RFTQ is ready for
rugged field usage.
The design and rugged components allow the RFTQ to operate in temperature
extremes and when covered with blood, snow, dirt or sand.

One hand or entrapped limb operation
The RFTQ device is simple to apply one handed or to an entrapped limb.
When applied to an entrapped limb the proprietary polymer coating of the strap tip
allows easy unthreading/threading of the nylon strap.
When applied one handed the high strength nylon ratchet strap retains a curved shape.
This helps hold the RFTQ in place on the limb and allows easier initial tightening with
the nylon strap.

Lightweight and Compact
The RFTQ is lightweight and compact to allow easy storage in a pouch, pack, or pocket.
The integral Velcro OneWrap™ strap holds the RFTQ compactly closed. The same
Velcro OneWrap™ strap can then be utilized for added security over the ratchet lever.

Designed by a board certified Emergency Medicine physician and Iraq
combat veteran.

Comments from the field:

"The Rapid Field Tourniquet was quick and easy to apply. Unlike other tourniquets I have used, the endpoint was stopping arterial flow and not the patients discomfort. Even the patient, a USMC veteran commented on the RFTQ saying 'it was a lot more
comfortable than the tourniquets he used in the Marines'.
I would highly recommend the Rapid Field Tourniquet."
